CISSP Submitter

In 2007, BDPA became a CPE Submitter through (ISC)²® the International Standard for Information Security.

(ISC)²® is the globally recognized gold standard for certifying information security professionals throughout their careers. The organization has certified over 50,000 information security professionals in more than 120 countries.

Founded in 1989 by industry leaders, (ISC)²® issues the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)® and related concentrations: Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP)®, Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP)® and Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP)®; the Certification and Accreditation Professional (CAPCM)®; and the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)® credentials to those meeting the necessary competency requirements. Several of (ISC)²®'s credentials meet the stringent requirements of ANSI/ISO/IEC Standard 17024, a global benchmark for assessing and certifying personnel.

The CPE Submitter status allows BDPA to grant Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits to BDPA members during its annual National Technology Conference or any other education event that meets (ISC)²® requirements.

In the CPE Submitter Model, an organization is granted the privilege of posting CPE credits on behalf of (ISC)²® members that attend the organization's CPE qualifying activities. It is the responsibility of the CPE Submitter to collect member names, member numbers, and posting preference. The member's posting preference is related to which credential(s) the member wishes to apply earned CPE credits towards. The CPE Submitter must submit said data along with a mapping of the accurate number of earned CPE credits to the applicable domains of the member's credential CBK®. The advantage to an (ISC)²® member is that the CPE credits are automatically posted to their transcript, although the posted CPE credits are subject to audit by (ISC)²®.
